Spanish Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica)
Spanish Honor Society is a fantastico opportunity for students to be a part of.
Mrs. Newsome is the sponsor of this group and one of MHS's Spanish teachers.
Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is a national honor society. La Sociedad helps recognize students who have a high achievement in the Spanish language, and helps encourage them to continue their interest in it.
MHS has long had a strong Spanish program, and we intend to keep the tradition going! Many members of La Sociedad have continued their Spanish studies in college, and some have gone on to a related career.
Activities include a community service project, an annual induction ceremony, and field trips, and there are also scholarship opportunities are also available for those who join! There is also a monthly meeting in Room 2-40; members are informed in advance each month about them.
