Green Society
The Marion High School Green Society's mission is to reduce the negative environmental footprint of the school through recycling efforts, courtyard planting and maintenance, and spreading sustainable environmental knowledge to their peers.
Green Society's purpose can be condensed into three words: benefit, educate, and influence. Club members benefit the school and the earth every meeting, as they clean the courtyards and collect recycling from classrooms. They educate by learning about the environment and by gaining real-word experience on club trips. They influence their classmates by inspiring them to care about this important cause. This club helps students prepare for their future as responsible adults who choose to prioritize sustainability efforts to make a continued positive impact on our environment.
During the 2024-25 school year, Green Society meets after school on Fridays in Room 1-25.
Who can join: Any MHS student motivated to make a positive impact on the environment. You can join at any time, just come to a meeting!
