Student Government

Be a school LEADER!

MHS Student Government is a great club to join if you like to build and lead school spirit and actively contribute to school-initiated activities and community service.

MHS Student Government Club exists to help communicate with the school administrators, sharing the needs and wants of the student body, and to cultivate a positive atmosphere within the building and help implement student activities.

This student organization is composed of representatives from each class, who campaign to be elected by their peers. The freshman, sophomore, and junior classes are each represented by two students. The senior class is represented by five students.

Members of Student Government must meet qualifications including GPA requirement, behavioral and attendance standards. Candidacy applications include a requirement for references from teachers. Campaigns and elections take place within the first month of school in each fall.

Student Government meets about once a month.

Who can join: Candidacy is open to all qualifying MHS students; representatives are elected.

How to join: Listen for information on the announcements about elections and meetings. Contact Mrs. Myers in Student Services for more information.
