It's an exciting time to be a young musician at Marion Community Schools, and it's an exciting time to be a supporter of school music programs! We're so grateful for school and community support. There are many ways you can help as we nurture the proud MCS tradition of excellent music education! 

 

Did you know that there are more than hundreds of students in grades 6 through 12 involved in the MCS band program every year? Did you know that Marion Community Schools' instrumental music program is considered one of the best in the state of Indiana? It's true! Our music students are consistently featured in honor ensembles around the region and state, and our music program has earned the highest honors from the Indiana State School Music Association several years in a row!

 

Marion High School Director of Bands Joshua Huff an exciting vision to continue to grow the MCS band program. He has revived the exciting tradition of marching band, and the Marching Giants have made the finals during State Fair Band Day, the culmination of the summer CITSA marching band competition circuit, several times since their return to the competition in 2020.

 

The MHS band program also includes several award-winning ensembles, including concert band, wind ensemble, and jazz band. The bands put on several shows throughout the year, and also participate in several ISSMA competitions.
