MHS, Taylor U. wind ensembles to combine for special concert

The Marion High School wind ensemble is excited to be joining the Taylor University wind ensemble for a special combined concert later this month.

The public is invited to come out and enjoy this special performance, which will start at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Rediger Chapel Auditorium at the Boren Campus Center. Admission is free.

Taylor’s Dr. Christopher Bade and Marion High School’s Joshua Huff will be conducting their ensembles. Each ensemble will present several pieces, and the two groups will combine for one special piece.

“It is an honor for Taylor University to host the Marion High School band,” Dr. Bade said. “This collaborative performance is an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work of each individual ensemble.”

This combined concert offers the chance for students and educators at both schools to make connections and build community. It is also a great opportunity for MHS students to experience music performance at the next level, giving them a chance to learn and grow as musicians.

“Our students are excited about this awesome opportunity,” Huff said. “We are grateful to Taylor University and Dr. Bade for making this opportunity possible!”

Marion Community Schools is thankful for our educators who go the extra mile to provide such great opportunities for our students, and we are thankful for community collaboration with our Grant County neighbors, such as this great partnership with Taylor University!
