Dozens of Marion High School students competed in the annual ISSMA Solo & Ensemble vocal and piano competition on Feb. 7, and many brought home top ratings for their performances. More than 25 MHS students have advanced to the state level vocal competition. (This follows more than 20 students who qualified for state in the earlier instrumental Solo & Ensemble competition!)

Each year, the Indiana State School Music Association puts on regional and state level Solo & Ensemble competitions for instrumentalists and for vocalists and pianists. This year, vocal regional competitions were held Feb. 7. Several musicians advanced to state level competition, which is set for Feb. 21 for instrumental.
