Hardwick, Sollars dominate NCC girls soccer

Two Marion Giants are sitting atop the leaderboard for North Central Conference girls soccer. 

Jayme Hardwick, sophomore, is ranked No. 1 in the NCC in points (50) and goals (22), and she is tied for No. 3 for assists (6). 

And Raven Sollars, senior, is right behind her at No. 2 in points (43) and goals (16), and is No. 1 in the NCC for assists (11). 

According to MaxPreps stats, Hardwick has also broken into the top 40 players in the state, sitting at 37th for goals and 39th for points. At the national level, she ranks among the top 130 players, at 126th for goals and 129th for points. 

The MHS girls soccer team has clinched their first winning season since 2018, and they have won five games straight heading into their final regular season game, hosting Huntington North at home at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1. General admission is $7 at the gate (preschoolers admitted free). 

Then, the Giants head into the post-season tournament, with their first sectional game set for 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at Maconaquah, where they will face Oak Hill. (Click here for the full girls soccer Maconaquah sectional schedule and ticket information.)
