CSA Civic's summer musical Into the Woods to feature several MCS students

CSA Civic Theatre has a treat in store this summer for our community: the modern classic musical Into the Woods!

Not one but two talented casts will bring this spellbinding production to life onstage. Civic's summer shows are multi-generational, with students as young as 10, to junior high and high school students, to adults of varying ages. Don't miss your chance to see dozens of talented performers — including several Marion Community Schools students — put a new spin on your favorite fairy tales.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, Into the Woods intertwines the stories of beloved fairy tale characters — including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack, and a Baker and his Wife — as they set out to fulfill their deepest wishes. But in the mysterious woods, every wish has unexpected consequences. This Tony Award-winning musical features a rich score, clever lyrics, and a heartfelt exploration of what happens after “happily ever after.”

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Aug. 7, 8, and 9, and 2 p.m. Aug. 10, on the mainstage at the Walton Performing Arts Center at Marion High School, 750 W. 26th St.

We invite all of Grant County to come and experience the magic of live theatre. Tickets can be purchased at www.csa-marion.com/tickets or in person at CSA, 305 S.
