March 4 is SAT testing day for MHS juniors

On Tuesday, March 4, all Marion High School 11th-grade students will take the SAT at the school. All other students will take part in special activities that day. Details are below.

If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Principal Phillippe.

Juniors:

NOTE: The SAT is required by the state of Indiana, and juniors must take the SAT to be eligible to purchase prom tickets.

SAT will be administered beginning at 8:45 a.m. in the upper floor of Building 2. Testing will conclude at approximately 12:15 p.m., followed by lunch.

Please bring your charged iPad and charger.

Please bring a calculator if you want to use your own on the SAT. Otherwise, a calculator is built into the digital test.

Cell phones and smart watches are not permitted at any time during the testing or break time. Your test will be invalidated if you are caught with any electronic device, other than your testing device.

Juniors may be excused from afternoon classes if they have transportation home. Those remaining at school will stay until dismissal at 3:55 PM.

Freshmen/sophomores:

All MHS 9th- and 10th-grade students will participate in special activities throughout the day.

Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Seniors:

All MHS 12th-grade students are encouraged to participate in a college field trip to Lincoln Tech (more details to come), or to schedule a college visit independently, or arrange a job shadowing experience.

Absences for these activities require an excuse form, available from Student Services or your English teacher.

To job shadow at an MCS school, email Mrs. Phillippe for approval. (Request must be submitted via email by 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27.)

Life skills students

Live skills students will remain with their teachers throughout the day.
