A Marion High School junior has been selected to perform in a prestigious all-state honor ensemble at the Indiana Music Educators Association’s upcoming annual conference.
Zoey Wayman was selected to participate in the Indiana Choral Directors Association’s All-State Honor Choir.
This ensemble is a great opportunity and gives students a chance to learn and grow as musicians. To earn a spot with the All-State Honor Choir, students participate in a challenging audition process, in itself a great learning experience. This is the first time in several years that an MHS student has been selected for this ensemble.
The All-State Honor Choir will perform under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Allen Hightower, director of choral studies at University of North Texas during the IMEA’s annual conference, set for Jan. 16-18 in Fort Wayne.
Marion’s representation during this music-filled weekend is a testament to the hard work and dedication our students display every day in the classroom, and to the excellence, skill, and professionalism that our music educators bring to their work all year round.
