Several band students from Marion High School and McCulloch Junior High School have been selected to perform in the Indiana Bandmasters Association All-Region Honor Band next month, hosted at Marion High School’s Walton Performing Arts Center.
The musicians who earned this honor are:
MHS freshmen:
- Madelynn Boogar, percussion
- Nicholas Easter, baritone saxophone
- Evan Knight, percussion
- Essance Morrison Mason, percussion
MJH 8th-graders:
- Hannah Huff, flute
- Kate Nguyen, flute
- Hanna Smith, clarinet
- Thomas Owen, trombone
Students are recommended by their band directors and submit applications to be considered for this honor band for grades 7 through 9. Applications from students across the region were evaluated to select members of this talented group.
After weeks of practice on their own, on Nov. 11 honor band members from around the region will gather to rehearse together for the first time. Then, on Sunday, Nov. 12, they will present a public performance at Marion High School. More details will be available closer to the performance.
Congratulations to these outstanding Marion students and all of the region's talented, hard-working students on this great accomplishment! The All-Region Honor Band is a great opportunity, and will give them a chance to learn and grow as musicians.
