State Fair sendoff for the Marching Giants

Come help us show our support for our Marching Giants as they head out on the road to State Fair Band Day!

The Giants will be leaving from the west side of Marion High School around 8:15 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4. Please plan to join us in a show of Giant Pride as they head to Indianapolis to represent Marion with the whole state looking on!

 If you plan to attend the Indiana State Fair, Band Day is a great day to go! We’d love to see the Giant Nation out to support our Marching Giants.

State Fair Band Day is the culminating competition of the CITSA circuit. The Marching Giants are set to compete with their show "Journey to Atlantis" at 1:24 p.m. Awards for the preliminary round will be announced at 4:30 p.m.

The top 16 scoring bands from the preliminary round return for the finals in the evening to compete for the State Championship. More information about the State Fair is available online at www.indianastatefair.com. 

This will be the Giants’ fourth Band Day appearance in a row, and their 19th overall. In 2022, the Giants made it to the finals for the second year straight. 

Decades ago, the Giants were a regular feature at State Fair Band Day, reaching the finals six times, and earning the title of Runner-Up in 1968 and State Champion in 1969.
