Next week, some of the best young musicians in the area will gather together for a special performance as the Grant County Public High School Honor Band.
The public is invited to come out and enjoy this special performance, set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, on the main stage at the Walton Performing Arts Center at Marion High School, 750 W. 26th St. Admission is free!
The Grant County Honor Band will feature 88 of the area’s top music students, selected from each of Grant County’s five public high schools, Eastbrook, Madison-Grant, Marion, Mississinewa, and Oak Hill.
This year’s guest conductor is Greg Snyder, Director Emeritus at Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio. The concert will also feature a guest soloist, trumpet player Nick Manwell, a member of Orchestra Indiana.
Band directors from all five schools have been collaborating since 2018 to make this annual opportunity possible for the talented young musicians around the county.
