National English Honor Society

National English Honor Society is the premier honor society for high school students who are captivated by English language and literature, creative writing, theatre and drama, film and media studies, and journalism.

NEHS honors high-achievers who have felt the power of the language arts, the thrill of great writing, and the excitement of language studies. NEHS recognizes past accomplishments, nurtures current interests, and inspires future success. The club will also plan and participate in community service projects.

Members may be eligible for scholarships and other awards through the national network.

For the 2024-25 school year, NEHS will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Who can join: Sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a minimum of a 3.0 (unweighted) overall GPA, and a minimum 3.0 (unweighted) GPA in science classes. Eligibility criteria also includes English classes taken.

How to join: Applications are given out during the fall. Contact sponsor Emily Dahlgren with questions.
