Student Senate

MHS Student Senate is a great club to be a part of, and is sponsored by MHS math teacher Ms. Sellers. Students get a chance to build school spirit in school-initiated activities and community service.

Some of the Senate's activities are spirit weeks, a canned food drive, a Pennies for Patients drive, selling items for Christmas/ Valentines Day, and having an annual Senior Citizens Prom for the community.

Leadership opportunities include officers for all grades (9-12), as well as school-wide officers.

Senate puts on a couple of fundraisers and takes donations for the Senior Citizens Prom. Funds also support homecoming and snowcoming weeks, as well as other activities throughout the year.

Meetings are usually held at least one Friday morning and afternoon of every month in Room 1-12. Activities and requirements are discussed, and jobs are assigned.

To became an active member, students should come to the first meeting of the year and fill out an application. Once that is approved, the student should come to regular meetings and after school activities.

So come join Student Senate at MHS! If you have any questions, talk to Ms. Angela Sellers, asellers@marion.k12.in.us
