One of Tucker Career and Technology Center’s main goals is to prepare students for their next step, whether that’s in a dorm room or in an office, and the college and career fair is a big part of achieving that goal.

For the second year, Tucker hosted a college and career fair Thursday with vendors from Indiana universities and businesses providing information to interested students and families. The fair also doubles as an open house for Tucker students to step into the tech ed classrooms before they enroll.

“It’s our spring open house for all of our incoming students and all of our current students and parents in the community to come in, see the classrooms and meet the teachers to see what types of projects our students do,” said Valerie Janowski-Human, guidance counselor. “As kind of an added bonus, we thought it would be cool to add a college and career fair so that seniors and other community members can come in and talk to colleges, talk to local business, especially the ones that are hiring, to see what their requirements are and learn more about them.”
